BALOTELLI JOINS AS LIVERPOOL ARE DEFEATED

Mairo Balotelli, Liverpool’s new signing was in the stands as he watched his new team lose to last year’s Champion’s Manchester City, his former club.

The colourful character had earlier completed his move to Liverpool in a £16 million deal and he then boarded the team bus up the road to the Eitihad Stadium for the Monday Night Football match against last year’s Champions City.

He will have been impressed with the way the Reds started, controlling midfield, creating chances for most of the 1st half.

However, conceding a goal to Jovetic was a shot in the back and against the run of play, City were in front and they never relinquished their advantage for the rest of the game with another by Jovetic followed by a strike by sub Aguero, on as a sub seconds earlier.

Liverpool suffered injuries to Glen Johnson, Martin Skrtel and debutant Alberto Moreno in the 2nd half to compound the misery of the defeat.

However, its early days in the new Season, so no need to be too despondent yet.

Next up is a trip to White Hart Lane on Sunday where a certain Mario Balotelli is sure to start.
