BUTLAND TO REPLACE REINA AT LIVERPOOL?

The Daily Mail reports that Brendan Rodgers is willing to let the great Pepe Reina leave Anfield , replaced by young Jack Butland from Birmingham.

This, hopefully, is another piece of nonsense from a newspaper that prides itself on rumour and speculation.

The tabloid suggests that Rodgers is unhappy with Reina, now aged 30, who has been a stand-out keeper for Liverpool since he joined us in 2005 from Villareal.

Birmingham’s Jack Butland has already made his England debut against Italy at the age of 19 and has won praise for his displays at the City Ground.

Quite where the Daily Mail gets this from is beyond me.

Reina announced on 3 September 2011 that he wanted to stay at Liverpool for another five or six years, because he and his family had settled in so well, and the people were so nice to him and he has given no indication to leave, despite the rumours of an Arsenal bid for our 3rd choice Captain.

The midfield […]

Liverpool’s Defensive Transfer Targets for the Summer 2025

Bar a collapse the likes of which the Premier League has never seen, given the fact that the Reds are 11 points clear with just seven games left to play, Liverpool will win the title this season. It is odd, therefore, to talk about the need to strengthen in certain areas, but there is little […]
