Liverpool’s Johnjoe Shelvey has really taken to new boss Brendan Rodgers philosophy.

The 21- year-old was at the heart of everything good about Liverpool’s performance against AS Roma at Fenway Park on Wednesday night.

Tackling well, defending well and being involved in many attacks, including a few shots on goal, the youngster impressed everyone at FSG.

Rumours that he is a makeweight in a Liverpool deal to land Fulham’s Clint Dempsey should be quickly dismissed judging on Shelvey’s form in the pre-Season.
