OWNERS NEVER PAID FOR NEW STADIUM LEASE

Friends Of Liverpool

Cheapskate
The new stadium at Stanley Park is in jeopardy.
Hicks and Gillette have not secured the all-important 999 year lease on the ground which is an absolute must before a sod can be turned on the place.
Liverpool City council expected the lease agreement to be signed two years ago.
But those penniless Americans have stalled on paying the £300,000 a year because, as we all know by now, the Yanks are just here to make a quick buck and do not care a jot about Liverpool Football club or its fans.
Meanwhile, the club is to spend £500,000 on renovating existing corporate boxes at Anfield.
Seems like the move to a new stadium is further away than ever.
