BABEL SENT OFF & TWO PENALTIES COST LIVERPOOL AGAINST BENIFICA

Friends Of Liverpool

Liverpool went down 2-1 to Benifica in Lisbon in the Europa League tonight.
Liverpool went ahead on 9 mins thanks to a clever back-heel by Danny Agger from a Gerrard corner.
However, Liverpool’s early good work was undone when Ryan Babel was sent off for foul play on the half-hour mark.
After that it was damage limitation for the Reds away from home.
Then in the second half two penalties were conceded by first Emiliano Insua and then Jamie Carragher meant that the Rafa’s team had to settle for an away loss in the first leg.
The great thing is we scored an away goal so we stand a good chance of progressing to the semi-finals.
