LFC Offerings Trio New Contracts, USA Tour Incoming? U18s Prepare for Youth Cup

Afternoon Bulletin

Liverpool could be playing in the United States this summer after reports have emerged that the club are in talks to play a pre-season tour in the states.

A potential trip in July seems the most likeliest although information regarding their stay and the number of matches hasn’t been discussed.

During the pre-season, Liverpool are expected to play a warm-up game at Anfield. The first time they would do so in four years due to renovations of the stadium.

Club News:

Sadio Mane is expected to be rewarded with a new contract extension with Liverpool. The Senegalese signed for Liverpool in 2016 from Southampton with his contract set to expire in 2021.

Although Mane’s form hasn’t been his best in the last few months, Liverpool will look to offer him a new contract as they look to keep their front three intact.

Along with Mane, the reds are set to offer Roberto Firmino a contract extension. Firmino has been in brilliant form for Liverpool this season and has two years remaining on his contract.

Top scorer Mohamed Salah will also be offered a new contract, less than a year after signing for the club. Salah has already surpassed the 30 goal mark this season.

Youth News:

Liverpool U18s are preparing for their clash on Wednesday against Manchester United in the UEFA Youth League. Youngster Ben Woodburn has also been made available for selection. The Welsh international featured in all six group-stage games earlier this season.

The winners of the match will face either Inter Milan or Manchester City in the Quarter-Finals.

Liverpool U23s suffered a shock defeat at home against West Ham in the Premier League 2. The reds remain top of the table, level on points with Leicester City although Liverpool do have a game in hand. They will also travel to Stoke next Sunday for the Premier League cup in a game they must win.
