Burnley V Liverpool preview by @thesmigger

Match Preview Liverpool

Peter sits down and discusses the Burnley v Liverpool game with Reds fan Paul Smith

1.Two games in 48 hours for the reds how will Jurgen deal with this?

You can expect changes for sure. Don’t think Jurgen will choose 2 different sides, I think it will be more about minutes. Total guessing game of what the lineups will be. We have good depth now to rotate as we’ve seen Klopp use already. Got to trust the manager to make the right decisions.

2.Do you see two totally different teams for the games in question?

Got to give credit where it’s due to Burnley and Sean Dyche. He’s got them very well organised very well structured and they can play football. As we’ve seen this season already they’re not scared to play anyone. The table doesn’t lie when we go there on the first we will need to be on our game to get a result.

What have you made of Burnley this season?

3….they have a very good squad some tough hardworking players who all play for each other. They have a good spine which makes them work so well. I like Ashley Barnes and Sam Vokes who will cause anyone big problem Jeff Hendricks and Robbie Brady have been quality too. But it has to be Tom Heaton he’s got Burnley a lot of points. He did the same at Anfield he’s the man to get past at turf moor.

4. What are your thoughts on the signing of Van Dijk?

Hopefully, he’s worth the wait. Virgil, as we all know, is a fantastic defender. Hopefully, we will see that over the next few seasons. Would have been nice if it happened in the summer we’d be a lot better off and maybe still in the title race if we did get him then. He’s here now. The price tag shouldn’t be on his head. Still a lot of games to go and a lot to play for so hopefully he will make his mark and help us finish strong in the league and a good run in the CL.

Do you think JK will make more signings in January?

5….. I very much doubt it. All though if like to see us bring in Leon Goretzka. He’d be a great addition. If it’s only VVD then am happy with that. Can see more going out on loan maybe 1 or 2 sold.

Finally, Paul what is your score prediction and why?

6…. I’d like to say 2-1 to the reds. Turf Moor is a hard place to go on a normal weekend. Going there 48 hours after the Leicester game will be a bit tougher. With them playing 48 hours earlier you’d think our depth will help us through. If we get a good result against Leicester on Saturday then I just fancy us to get the 3 points…..

All the best for the new year reds have a good one… YNWA
