Match Preview Liverpool

Chelsea and Liverpool is the next major clash set to take place in the current Premier League title race.

Both clubs have extensive histories with a vast number of domestic and European trophies to their names. The football betting odds has the current champions as the outsiders in this clash at 21/10 with Liverpool at 5/4 to claim another win over the Blues.

This comes as no surprise as Chelsea have struggled against Liverpool in recent times and have failed to win since back in November of 2014.

Liverpool stand alone when you look at their League Cup record over the years.

They have won the competition a record 8 times from the first in the 1980/81 season to most recently in the 2011/12 season.

The Reds are currently in 5th place in the league just behind Chelsea but will be hoping to push into the Champions League places come the end of the season. This further backs up the importance of this top of the table clash.

Both clubs cannot afford to drop any more points as they are falling behind runaway leaders Manchester city Even in this early part of the season. City have looked unstoppable recently and have already racked up 34 points in their first 12 fixtures only dropping points to Everton back in August as they were held to a 1-1 draw.
