Liverpool Rumours Round-Up: Lemar, Origi, Can, Sanches & Keita

Liverpool Transfer Rumours

Liverpool put in one of their best performances in recent times as they outplayed Arsenal 4-0 in the Premier League. As we head into the international break, all attention has now been turned to the summer transfer window with two days remaining. We continue to provide the latest transfer news and rumours from Merseyside.

On Monday, News emerged that Liverpool had launched a record bid of €72 million plus €8m in add on for Monaco’s Thomas Lemar according to L’Equipe. However, it is believed that the Ligue 1 champions Monaco will need more cash to part with Lemar.

AS Monaco have yet responded to Liverpool’s offer but is understand that they would only hold talks for Lemar after completing the deal for Kylian Mbappe. Although the 21-year-old is under contract at Stade Louis II until 2020, Liverpool are desperate to bring him to the club with a bid that would smash their current transfer record, which was broken earlier this summer with the £39m arrival of Mohamed Salah from Roma.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Divock Origi could be sent out on loan if he manages to add some new additions to the squad before the transfer window slams shut on Thursday evening.

The young Belgian international has found his playing time limited to just 10 minutes this season. After falling further down the pecking order behind Daniel Sturridge and Dominic Solanke, it will be best for Origi if he goes out on loan to a club where he is guaranteed regular playing time.

On other news, Juventus have not given up hope of signing Liverpool star Emre Can and will reignite their interest in January according to reports. The Italian champions were widely tipped to be the Germany international next destination after stalling contract talks with the Reds.

As Juventus couldn’t tempt Liverpool into a sale and it appeared their interest had cooled but Juventus chief Beppe Moratta has confirmed they will wait until January to launch another bid.

Liverpool are also emerging as favourites to sign Bayern Munich star Renato Sanches on loan. Sanches is unhappy due to lack of playing time the Allianz Arena and could move before Thursday’s transfer deadline. Chelsea are also said to be interested in the 20-year-old Portugal international.

It also appeared that Liverpool have agreed a club record fee of £48 million with RB Leipzig for Naby Keita next summer. Keita reported to be having his medical today with Liverpool and will officially join Liverpool on July 1, 2018. Liverpool will also pay a premium on the release clause in order to secure the services of the box-to-box midfielder.
