Coutinho is the hottest talent in Premier League, says Liverpool team-mate Lovren

Philippe Coutinho

SAMBA star Philipp Coutinho is the Premier League’s greatest talent on current form, according to Liverpool team-mate Dejan Lovren.

Playmaker Coutinho was in fantastic form as Jurgen Klopp’s side beat Crystal Palace 4-2 in the Premier League at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

And Lovren has paid tribute to the excellence of Coutinho following the Kop victory, which was secured by goals from Lovren, Emre Can, Joel Matip and Roberto Firmino — leaving the Reds in third but on the same points as leaders Manchester City and second-placed Arsenal.

The Croation defender said: “On current form he’s the best player in the league at the moment. I have the pleasure and the honour to play with this guy. He is playing for Brazil as well”.

“He wasn’t just outstanding against Palace, he’s been like that all year. His crosses were perfect. We scored from his set-pieces. He is a main part of the team, but it’s not an individual thing that wins us points, it’s the team work”.

“It was the team that beat Palace, not just one player. But of course when a team works really good then individual qualities comes out. I think that man against Palace was Philippe Coutinho.”

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp says his charges are in a good place but he isn’t making any predictions as far as the Premier League title is concerned.

He said: “I have no idea, it’s my first proper season in the Premier League, I have no idea what to do to win the Premier League”.

“But I’m really sure it was never decided at the end of October. We feel good at the moment, that’s all.”
