Liverpool's Johnjoe Shelvey has really taken to new boss Brendan Rodgers philosophy.
The 21- year-old was at the heart of everything good about Liverpool's performance against AS Roma at Fenway Park on Wednesday night.
Tackling well, defending well and being involved in many attacks, including a few shots on goal, the youngster impressed everyone at FSG.
Rumours that he is a makeweight in a Liverpool deal to land Fulham's Clint Dempsey should be quickly dismissed judging on Shelvey's form in the pre-Season.
Apologies for the music in the above video!
Yes, he definitely has improved a lot. why not making use of him for that position instead of buying another player.
ReplyDeleteWe have so many central midfielders. Gerrard, Lucas, Shelvey, Adam, Aquilani, Spearing and even Cole wants to play there. Personally I feel Spearing can go. Rodgers may cool his interest in Joe Allen after this performance by Shelvey!
ReplyDeleteRogers seems hell bent on bringing every player he has worked with. 15m on allen after henderson..??? both these players will just get in the way of shelvey's progress
ReplyDeleteWas at Fenway, Shelvey did look in control. I think he has real potential, let's hope Ridgers finds a way to give him some playing time. Pacheco also looked to be promising despite his lack of chances. It was his play that created the goal for Adam. Everyone involved on the right side in the 2nd half are not ready for first team playing time.
