Well Kenny, it was an abject display by the team, a team you largely assembled yourself.

With the exception of Craig Bellamy in attack & Enrique at full-back, £90 million has been wasted on very average players who would not get into any of the current top four teams in the Premier League.
(Luis Suarez was brought in by the previous regime).
We were over-ran in midfield without the injured Lucas as Charlie Adam couldn't make a legal tackle to save his own backside, Henderson had one shot on goal and zero tackles.
Andy Carroll did provide the assist for Bellamy's goal but that was about all the big geordie did all day.
Stuart Downing has been a total flop since arriving from Aston Villa in the Summer, an England international, he has been dismal at Liverpool, God knows why, he has the ability.
So Kenny, go out and buy a quality striker and a proper midfielder before our Season is over by February, please.

ReplyDeleteA bit harsh... Downing is not a failure if there was a striker who could finish. Henderson is a good future talent. I pretty much agree with the rest - at least adam only cost 8 mil so not much wasted. Carroll is the big issue.. such a waste of money and it looks like the owners don't want to spend any more cash otherwise I would of expected a striker coming in.
ReplyDeletepeople people people this team needs very little to be on top, the only problem is that suarez is out...the best defense is good or great offense and lp is very close to getting another good player in the next few days, look at the goals against in the past 5 games with out luis and look at the goals against with him...the only reason why suarez in not scoring as he should is coz of adam, he is one jealous man this adam character.great offense???
ReplyDeleteThe problem with Kenny Dalglish is he is quite similar to Rafa Benitez when it comes to man management. The only difference is Rafa had to sell to buy (which eventually led to him buying average players) and Kenny wasted the money that was given to him on a platter (by buying average players). Taking a look at his purchases, ENRIQUE and BELLAMY have been fantastic buys. Henderson, is one for the future (still needs time). Downing, I shall not comment for reasons. Which leaves us to Adam and Carroll. Both have been failures. Adam has cost us atleast 10 points (calculating the amount of own goals and goals conceded at times he has given away possession). Carroll is one we need to get rid of. Does not have skill, speed, passion, motivation. All I hear are promises to deliver. Nothing else. He has the frame of Big foot, but the falls to ground way to easy (Which is why, I fail to comment on Downing). No goals, no assists. Maybe if we had a QUALITY STRIKER, we would be scoring more goals not just from forwards but the midfield too. Everyone one knows Carroll does not need to be marked. You can give him 10 yards of a headstart to the ball and still beat him to it. So Mr. Dalglish please buy a striker (LLORENTE) and a new wide player (XHAKIRI) before its too late. And for F***'s sake, stop this ENGLISH madness.

ReplyDeleteAdam is a very good player for teams like Blackpool, Fulham, those bottom half table teams, not Liverpool. Why couldn't we keep Aqualani? He looked fit and was playing great during pre season. He has the skills, passing quality and vision Adam can only dream of.
Downing - I could not believe we paid £20million him! Waste of money and time.
Carrol - initially I was excited that we signed him but we regularly hear about his late nights, drinking problems etc. I mean we paid £35million pounds for this guys and he can't even get his act together!!! He looks unhappily, lazy, not interested.
We really need to buy a new top quality striker ASAP! We are losing ground on the top 4. Why doesn't Kenny give Raheem Sterling a chance on the wing? He is skilful and tricky! Another player I though would have been worth a try is Suso - He is a quality player sitting in the reserves.
Anyway, please Kenny, sort something out ASAP or teams like Sunderland, Stoke and Fulham will be catching up with us.

Some idiots in LFC's hamepage say that, Carroll is only 23, has a £35m price tag, so it's difficult for him. My question is when will those idiots learn that he's been here for more than a year. If he can't compare with the pressure now then he'll never be able to do it. Look at Aguero. He too is only 23, he has a £38m price tag but he got nearly 10 times the amount of goals Donkey Carroll did this season. Aguero's been here only for half a season. Carroll's just a poor player. Simple as that. Kenny's just an aweful manager.
