ANDY CARROLL ON HIS WAY TO LIVERPOOL

In an exciting development, Liverpool FC have announced that Newcastle United have accepted a bid of upwards of £35 million for 22 year old striker Andy Carroll.
The player is travelling to L4 as we speak having earlier handed in a transfer request to his club following an earlier £30 million bid, which was turned down at the time.
With the arrival of Suarez, these two will form an excellent partnership for Kenny Dalglish's Liverpool.
It should also help to soften the blow of Torres leaving for Chelsea.

OFFICIAL: TORRES HANDS IN TRANSFER REQUEST

BREAKING NEWS
Fernando Torres has tonight handed in a written transfer request to Liverpool FC.
In turn, Liverpool board have totaly refused to accept it saying the player "is under contract at Liverpool and we expect him to honour that contract".
In what is devastating news for club and fans alike, it seems as if we go from one crisis to another, this is surely one of the biggest crisis of them all.
Our star forward wants to leave the club for Chelsea.
I am deeply saddened by these developments, I had hoped we were back on the right track with the new owners and the return of Kenny Dalglish as manager, but this news will set us all back, its too bad.
To see our brilliant forward handing in a transfer request in the January window is a bombshell that will take time to get over.
Right, lets just get the most money we can for the player, buy another striker to form a partnership with new-boy Suarez and keep the show on the road.

COME ON LIVERPOOL, GET THE FINGER OUT

With Liverpool heavily mentioned in several transfer moves in the transfer window, it is time to ask the question.
Why are we placing such small bids for Suarez and Charlie Adam?
Rumours were related that we had the money to spend this window by Tom Werner himself, telling us that Liverpool had money to spend, this transfer window and beyond.
However only bidding £12.7 million for Ajax forward and £4 million for Blackpool's Charlie Adam smells like small cheese to me.
Come on Fenway, show your signs of intent as new owners of Liverpool Football Club and give the cash to Commoli to capture Suarez, offer them £20 million for the Uragyuan stiker, if that isn't enough then, fair enough, walk away from the deal.
Blackpool's Charlie Adam wants to join us Reds, but a £4 million offer is a joke, you are looking at an £8 to £10 million price for the player who would love to play for Liverpool.
Commolli get the finger out and put some real money up for these players.
Best of luck at your new club Ryan, well done on the Webb tweet!

WHERE DO WE PUT GERRARD AFTER THAT PERFORMANCE?

Well, after that fantastic display at Molineaux, where Kenny Dalglish got his first win of his new tenure, he now has a nice problem on his hands, who to leave out v Fulham and where does Steven Gerrard play?
It was a great team performance, full of attacking and good 'passing and movement'.
Everyone played well but Raul Miereles really caught the eye where he ran the midfield for Liverpool with his neat passing and good link-up play and he crowned his man of the display with a great volleyed goal.
Centre midfield is obviously his best position as he has turned in increasingly impressive outings in the heart of midfield for the Reds.
With Steven Gerrard due back from suspension on Wednesday, King Kenny has a dilema, even if its a good one, where does he play Miereles?
Usually, Gerrard is an automatic choice in the centre of midfield, but with the Portuguese doing so well there, what about playing Stevie G on the right where he played many times before under Rafa and for England.
I'm no football Manager but I would like to see a midfield of Maxi, Lucas, Miereles and Gerrard next Wednesday at Anfield.
Steven plays well out there whipping in great crosses for Fernando Torres and scoring plenty from cutting inside himself too.
Just a thought, great to get back to winning ways again though and I love our style of play under King Kenny.

LOADS OF LUIS SUAREZ GOALS, THE MAN TO SPARK LIVERPOOL'S SEASON

Luis Suarez is the name on every ones lips in the papers and on the street.
The Uraguay International is a free-scoring footballer playing with Ajax in Holland.
Daniel Comolli has watched him on several occasions and I hope John Henry spends the £15 million needed to buy him for Liverpool as he would be a great strike partner for Torres.

NICE ONE RYAN!

I had a chuckle when I saw Ryan Babbel's mischevious post of Howard Webb on Twitter this evening.
Yes he gave Utd a soft penalty as he often does and yes, Stevie G should have escaped with just a yellow for that tackle on Carrick.
I say well done Ryan, you expressed what we all felt today after that gallant defeat to the scum.
Don't apologise young man, you were right!

THE SUDDEN DEPARTURE OF ROY HODGSON

I knew it was coming, but I was still a bit shocked when I got up today to hear that Roy Hodgson had been sacked by the Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group.
Hodgson is a nice guy and a good manager, but he just couldn't cut it at Liverpool.
Too many shocking defeats, Northampton in the Carling Cup was the start, followed by losses to Blackpool, Everton.... Newcastle and finally for him, Blackburn.
Also the style of play at times was dreadful to watch, defensive, the long-ball, turgid stuff.
Neither did he get the best out of his players, which has been his biggest asset until he took over at Anfield.
By the end of his short reign, Liverpool's team of internationals were playing like relegation fodder.
Then he never had the backing of our fans, well he did in the beginning but the style of play and the bad results meant he was always going to be on a loser there.
John Henry made a point of listening to fans groups as soon as he bought the club and he was obviously listening to them again this week, as the axe fell swiftly on Roy Hodgson's head.

SUNDAY MAYBE D-DAY FOR ROY

Roy Hodgson's unfortunate reign at Anfield looks likely to extend onto Sunday and the FA Cup clash with Man Utd at Old Trafford.
In an unlikely turn of events, John Henry and Tom Werner will not be able to get into the UK until then to discuss with Roy his tenure at the club.
Incumbent Kenny Dalglish is in Dubai and will not be back either until Sunday.
So everything is on hold until the weekend.
It means that Hodgson will be still in charge of the team against Utd at Sunday lunch-time and even if he engineers a famous victory over our hated rivals, he may still be walking the plank.
The Fenway Sports Group have become alarmed at Liverpool's results, performances and, in particular, the opinion of the fans.
They are most anxious to remedy the managerial situation as soon as possible and will relieve Hodgson of his duties late this weekend.

POOR PLAYER PERFORMANCE PUTS PRESSURE BACK ON HODGSON

Liverpool endured another miserable night away from home in the Premier League with a hiding from Blackburn Rovers, of all teams.
This was an abject performance by most of the players on show at Ewood Park.
Glen Johnson was guilty of very poor marking which led directly to two of the goals, while the normally reliable 'Soto' was guilty of allowing Benjani to turn and score in the box, comical.
Lucas had another anonymous game in midfield, not that we had a midfield, while Maxi never got into the game before being replaced.
Nando is a shadow of his former great self while Ngog is simply not good enough for this club.
The team played without any bottle or heart or skill and deserved to lose.
This team needs a total overhaul of players now.
Change the Manager?
Change the players and buy some real talent.

ADEBAYOR TO LIVERPOOL? I'D SNAP HIS HAND OFF

Liverpool are reported to have made a firm enquiry about Manchester City's Emmanuel Adebayor.
The striker is out of favour at the club with Balotelli and Tevez ahead of him in the side.
Also, the impending arrival of Edin Dzeko in the window will make it impossible for the the former Arsenal player to get his place back in the City team.
To make matters worse for the player, he was involved in a training ground bust-up with team-mate Yaya Toure this afternoon, so an early exit is now inevitable for the Togo International.
Whether Liverpool make a cash offer for the player, he cost City £25 million, or they opt to try to take him on loan remains to be seen.
With a player of this quality, we should definately be trying to bring him to Anfield, as he would be an instant success upfront alongside Fernando Torres.
The only stumbling block is the future of Roy Hodgson, my gut feeling is that he will be given a bit more time by NESV to improve Liverpool's results on the pitch.
Lets get Adebayor, he would make a huge difference to our team.
