After tonight's performance compared to the game against Spurs, the evidence is irrefutable, Andy Carroll is not needed at Liverpool.
Yes he is a good lad and all that but we do not need him in our team, we play abysmal football when he is on the pitch and he was just a panic-buy from Newcastle when Torres left.
I have nothing against the lad but we play better without him.
Liverpool against Brighton where Craig Bellamy, Luis Suarez and Dirk Kuyt played some brilliant passing football on the ground, tearing Brighton to shreds at times is the way forward for our team.
The days of a big lumbering centre-forward are redundant in the Premier League, nowadays most teams play speedy, neat and inventive football designed to unlock packed defences.
The hoofed ball to Carroll is a waste of time and has cost Liverpool points already this Season.
If I were Damian Comolli, I would be looking for a buyer for Carroll right now, no offence Andy but you are a Stoke City,Blackburn or West Brom type player.
Man of the match: Craig Bellamy

ReplyDeleteUtter nonsense. The boy is 21 and has a bright future. We definitely overpaid for him but to make judgments based on a Carling Cup game is absolutely ridiculous. Not saying he needs to start at the moment but we could definitely use the depth and he gives us another option off the bench. In time, he could be a real player.
ReplyDeleteFair comments but I don't rate him
ReplyDeleteFootball is a team effort. It's not right to single out any particular player for blame. Neither is it fair to blame Comolli or KK. Liverpool was in total disarray on that day. It's something which KK, Clarke and the backroom boys will have to sit down and analyse.
ReplyDeletethe fact is, he is not inform. Till he get that again no automatic place for him. kenny said already about it, I hope daglish keep his promise
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, we actually play better without Carroll. With Kuyt, Suarez have someone to play off from, not to mention the help in defence he gives which was non existence with Carroll. For now, Carroll in my opinion should be "Plan B" where the pass and move game is not working, then he gives us another option. However having said that, Carroll needs to work on his positional sense, always I see him behind the defender in the box and that makes him second best to a cross, he should be looking to get in front of a defender instead.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say no room for a player of his age even if there is no visible potential in him. The fact that he is young confirm that he has a lot of time to discover and learn new trick, so i would say there is no room for him yet.s no visible potential in him. The fact that he is young confirm that he has a lot of time to discover and learn new trick, so i would say there is no room for him yet.

CARROLL....GIVE US UR GOAL COZ I TRUST IN YOU...........CARROL
Alot of critisism of my article about Andy Carroll. Its my site, my opinions and the lad has done nothing yet for LFC.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with the author and am doing it as a fan for more than 2 decades. What had Carroll contributed? Simple question but no straight answer.
ReplyDeleteKD paid 35 mill for him ASSUMING he is good. Its proven now, he is not.
Rodrigo said that what choice did KD had at that time apart from paying 35 mill for this donkey? Well he could have kept that 35 mill. Carroll came in injured and was injured again soon after. He actually missed achunk of the season and we did well without him.
