Pepe Reina has further fuelled the fire about speculation that he will quit Anfield in the Summer.
The Spanish shot-stopper has frequently been linked with a move away from Liverpool this season and tonite he has said:
“It’s not about being patient. It’s about the club winning and I want to be competitive.”
It appears that the keeper, good as he has been for Liverpool is actively seeking a move away from Anfield following the departure of compatriots manager Rafa Benitez and players Fernando Torres and Xabi Alonso in the past two seasons.
It is believed that our keeper has a £20 million buyout clause in his six-year contract and that Arsene Wenger is willing to meet that price following the poor displays by Almunia and co.
Maybe Liverpool should go for out-of-favour Shay Given of Man City.
The Irish International who is very talented and experienced and would be an ideal replacement should Reina decide to leave in the summer.

ReplyDeleteif gerrard, carragher and joe cole were playing for Valencia and happened to be Valencia were facing with troubles on and off the pitch, sooner or later the trio would have said something (leaving the club, looking for competitive matches and what not). this happens to anyone. so deal with it. owen left us because of this. macca did the same.

ReplyDeletespanish players are worldcup winner and they need to mantain that standard.. if liverpool cannot keep them in that standard they will eventually seek a club which will...I'm a liverpool fan too. so lets not criticize spanish players to be fair..it is actually the dead wood likes of cara and cole and slowly gerrard is also .. that liverpool is failing to compete with other teams .. cara is too slow for a defender and gives away too many fouls and anyone can outpase him gerrard has lost his game and so has cole ..sorry to turn out the liverpool's faithful the blame but facts are facts indeed

King Kenny came on board b4 Judas made up his stupid mind to leave, so i dont see wat stops Reina as well. they are not bigger than the club, so no loss. we make 20million from his sale and get in a better replacement and some better players as well.
