THE DREADED DAVID MOYES

David Moyes, the grumpy Scottish manager of Everton really gets on my tits.
They even had the cheek to knock us out of the FA Cup this year.
Here's to you Mr. Moyes

Meanwhile reports in the press today suggest that Rafa may be about to bid over £20 million for David Silva. The skillful forward is one of a number of star names Valencia will have to sell to pay off their £450 million debts.
I haven't seen the guy play yet but I guess David Ngog might be sweating a bit on hearing this news.
Over to you Rafa

LIVERPOOL SCORE FIVE TO CLOSE THE GAP

Liverpool closed the gap to league leaders Man Utd to just one point with a crushing 5-0 defeat of Martin O'Neills Aston Villa at Anfield.

Without playing at their very best Liverpool ran out easy winners in the end.

Kuyt scored the opener after a Gerrard free-kick rebounded to him off the crossbar to rifle home on seven minutes.

Albert Riera latched onto another long punt by Riera to slam home the second.

Gerrard then converted the penalty after Rio-Coker took down Riera in the box.

So three-nil at half time and all is well at Anfield.

The second-half started well for the reds as Gerrard put a slide-rule shot into the corner of the goal to make it four.

After a rare Torres run into the box, where he was felled by keeper Brad Friedal to earn Liverpool another penalty and a harsh sending-off of the Villa keeper, Gerrard dispatched his second penalty to earn an emphatic 5-0 victory at Anfield.

So we are now just a point behind the hated Mancs even though they have a game in hand, I still feel we can catch them to win our first League title in nineteen years.

UTD AND CHELSEA BOTH LOSE

Amazingly, Manchester United and Chelsea have both lost today.
United were useless down at Craven Cottage where they had two men sent off and conceded two goals to an average Fulham.
Obviously suffering a reaction to the hammering given to them by us last week.
Utd never got going in the game and but for a twenty minute spell in the second half when they might have scored, they deserved to lose.
We are now just four points behind them with the same number of games played and we have the chance to go to within a point of them tomorrow when we play Aston Villa at Anfield.
Chelsea lost at White Hart lane to a Luka Modric first half goal which was another good result for us because we will go three points clear of them if we win tomorrow.
Come on ye Reds!

RAFA SAYS YES TO THE NEW DEAL

Rafa Benitez has finally agreed to put pen to paper on a new contract that has been sitting on the table for some time now.
After the magnificent wins against Real Madrid and Man Utd last week, he picked the ideal time to press for his demands for greater control over transfers and the running of the Academy.
I am pleased he has decided to stay on for another five years, as I feel he is the man to finally bring home the title to Anfield.
The assured tactician is getting better every season results-wise and I am confident he will bring us more success.
Hopefully, it will be this season, if not then it should definitely happen soon.

MAGNIFICENT WIN AT OLD TRAFFORD

Four goals against Madrid midweek and four again today against our hated enemy in their own backyard!
With no Alonso and Arbeloa crying off injured minutes before the game, I admit I thought we had no chance, how wrong could I be.
Even going behind to Ronaldo (pouf) penalty, didn't halt Liverpool's determination to win this match. Torres finished superbly after Vidic's error and then an Evra foul on Stevie G meant we had a 2-1 lead at half-time.
More off the same in the second half, Liverpool resolute at the back and in midfield, we looked comfortable all over the pitch.
Vidic was having a nightmare and when he pulled down Gerard just outside the box and got sent off, Aurelio stepped up and lofted the ball into the top corner, it was three-one to the reds and the game looked to be won.
It was all over when sub Andre Dossena latched on to a long kickout from Riena to loop the ball over Van der Saar.
So 4-1 to Liverpool, we have done the double over our hated rivals and we are now just four points behind them.
Well done Rafa and the team, brilliant!

BRILLIANT LIVERPOOL THRASH MADRID

What an absolutely brilliant performance by Rafa's reds tonight.
Right from the first minute we poured into them, it was great to watch as Liverpool attacked over and over again with Casillas making save after save until Fernando Torres opened the scoring on 16 minutes.
Then the penalty which Gerrard scored easily.
Great first half was followed by the perfect restart when Gerrard scored again from a Babel cross.
Some slight Madrid pressure followed but the match was killed off by sub Andre Dossena, of all people, scored the fourth.
So a magical night at Anfield,
better than for many along time!

Were you watching that Rafa?
Robbie Keane scored for Spurs and has a hand in the next two goals.
Put that down in your notebook as our season fades into oblivion once again.

LIVERPOOL BACK TO WINNING WAYS

Liverpool got the show back on the road with a comfortable 2-0 win against Sunderland at Anfield.
Much the better side, Liverpool had to wait until the 58th minute when young Frenchman, David Ngog turned in Steven Gerrard's header to take the lead.
Yossi Benayoun then got a second when the Sunderland goalkeeper spilled another Ngog shot into the Israeli's path.
Liverpool bossed the game throughout as they have done all season but thankfuly they got the goals tonight to get all three points to maintain our faint title hopes.
Next up is Real Madrid at Anfield next Tuesday where, hopefuly, we can book a place in the next round of the Champion's League.
